Mariner’s Shelley Wood named NB HR Professional of the Year

May 6, 2022 | News

Congratulations to Shelley Wood, Mariner’s VP, Human Resources, Organizational Development & Talent Acquisition on being named the Human Resources Professional of the Year by CPHR New Brunswick / CRHA Nouveau-Brunswick!

The Human Resources Professional of the Year Award recognizes an exemplary CPHRNB individual who plays a key role in driving the performance and reputation of an organization, is a catalyst for organization-wide change, serves as a trusted advisor on organizational strategy and demonstrates leadership in the human resources profession and their organization.

Shelley approaches her leadership responsibilities the same way she approaches life – with high energy and enthusiasm. It is with this level of energy and enthusiasm she leads meaningful change within Mariner – demonstrated through her efforts to lead a “Future of Work at Mariner” strategy and plan through 2021 and 2022, which resulted in significant improvements to our overall employee value proposition.

A deep understanding of the significant increase in workplace complexities and a passion for leadership learning led her to invest in expanding her perspective on ‘the future of work’ through education at MIT.

Shelley’s generosity extends beyond Mariner into the community, where as Chair of the United Way Saint John, Kings, and Charlotte 2021 Campaign, she led the fund-raising efforts ensuring programs continue to provide support that matters for the people who truly need it.

Thank you, Shelley, for embodying – and enriching – the Mariner Experience in everything you do and at the same time supporting our team to do their best work!
